Creekside American Bistro located in Sedona, Arizona is a popular restaurant overlooking Sedona’s Oak Creek and famous red rocks. The restaurant is well known with both locals and tourists for its unique and seasonally changing menu featuring locally sourced ingredients. Whether you visit for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you will find a unique and delicious dish on the menu.
What I enjoy about my visits to Creekside American Bistro is that it feels trendy and upscale without being pretentious. It’s the type of place you can visit for breakfast or lunch after an early morning hike (like Devil’s Bridge), and feel comfortable.
Or, it’s the type of place you can dress up for and go out for a romantic dinner. The restaurant also has a dog friendly patio for those who want to bring their best friend along.
Interior
After entering through the front door, there was a small dining room to the left and a bar to the right. I found the décor at Creekside American Bistro to be quite unique, hip, and eccentric. While large windows allowed plenty of light in during the day, I found the interior to be somewhat dark with black ceilings, black Victorian-style wallpaper, and dark brown floors. It was dark on dark on dark.
While I visited for breakfast, I could imagine how cozy and inviting the dining room might be at night. Creekside American Bistro would be a great place for date night in Sedona.
Outdoor Deck
One of my favorite things about Creekside American Bistro is being able to dine on their outdoor deck, which also happens to be dog friendly for all the dog lovers out there. From the deck, the views of Sedona’s red rocks are just stunning, especially at sunset.
So if the weather is cooperating on your visit, I highly recommend you grab a seat on the outdoor deck. Just a word of warning, it can get hot, even in the shade, on those balmy summer days in Arizona.
Creekside American Bistro Menu
If you don’t know, Sedona can be an expensive city. While Creekside American Bistro is not the cheapest restaurant in Sedona, I consider their dishes well priced for the quality. If you are a breakfast and brunch fan, then you will surely find something that catches your attention on the menu at Creekside American Bistro. The menu seemed to have it all including Eggs Benedict, shrimp & grits, French toast, waffles, huevos rancheros, breakfast burrito, breakfast tacos, croissants, and more.
This was definitely one of the more exciting menus I encountered in Sedona. Just a word of warning: the menu at Creekside American Bistro does and will change based on the season and what is fresh.
Creekside Eggs Benedict
First up was the Creekside Eggs Benedict ($17.00), one of my favorite breakfast items. This version was made with two poached eggs on English muffins, Canadian bacon, spinach, avocado, pico de gallo, black truffles, and hollandaise sauce. This wasn’t your typical eggs Benedict. On the side was a colorful medley of tender potato chunks with a side of ketchup.
Fortunately, when I cut through each egg with my knife, I was rewarded with an explosion of golden yolk. This yolk then mixed with the buttery, lemony hollandaise sauce resulting in a delicious rich sauce that flowed down onto the English muffin.
The most unique part of the Creekside Eggs Benedict would have to be the thin slices of black truffles sprinkled over each egg. These black truffles added a nutty and earthy flavor, similar to that of a mushroom. Finally, the muffin was lightly toasted and crunchy, resulting in the perfect base for the mixture of egg yolk and hollandaise sauce.
Shrimp & Grits
Next up was the Shrimp & Grits ($19.00). This Southern staple was made with gulf white shrimp, crispy pork belly, cheesy grits, buttery leeks, green onions, and a spicy red chili hot sauce.
The most unique part of this dish would have to be the crispy pork belly. Each caramelized piece of salty, smoky, sweet pork was unbelievably tender with the perfect amount of flavorful, fatty goodness. I would have never thought to pair pork belly with shrimp, but this made sense as the pork complemented the fresh shrimp, rich sauce, and cheesy grits.
This version of shrimp and grits served at Creekside American Bistro was more refined. It was light on the grits and heavy on the sauce. But for me, I would have preferred less sauce and more thick, smooth, creamy cheesy grits. Drizzled over the plate was a touch of spicy red chili hot sauce, which complemented the salty shrimp and sweet pork.
Service
On my visit to Sedona, all of the restaurants I visited had great service. With that said, I would probably rate Creekside American Bistro as having the best service I encountered. The servers were fantastic.
Also, being a busy weekend morning, I was expecting my food to take a little longer than usual as I knew the kitchen was slammed. I was wrong as both plates of food arrived promptly after ordering.
Conclusion
Without hesitation, I would place Creekside American Bistro on my list of the best breakfast spots in Sedona. While I can’t speak for their lunch and dinner options, what I do know is their refined breakfast options are delicious and unique.
Where else can you find eggs Benedict topped with black truffles or shrimp & grits paired with pork belly? With delicious food, great service, and wonderful views of the red rocks from their outdoor deck, I would highly recommend Creekside American Bistro for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
