Growing up in California, I have been lucky enough to visit Las Vegas more times than I can count. When I was younger, I visited Vegas for the nightlife and gambling. Now that I am getting older, I realize there is a lot more to Vegas than meets the eye. While the city was built on gambling, today, Las Vegas is one of the best food cities in the world.
Las Vegas seems to have it all when it comes to food. Everything from buffets to Michelin star celebrity chef restaurants to hole-in-the-wall eateries only known by locals. This diversity is what keeps me coming back.
While Las Vegas can be an expensive place to eat, you can also find your share of affordable food options that are not only cheap but delicious. This is my list of 14 of the best cheap eats on the Las Vegas Strip.
1 – Tacos El Gordo
The first spot on my list of the best cheap eats in Las Vegas brings us to Tacos El Gordo. Founded in San Diego in 1998, Tacos El Gordo today operates three locations in Las Vegas including one on the strip across from Resorts World.
Tacos El Gordo is well known for their authentic Tijuana style tacos. While I enjoy the tacos, many people will argue if they are the best in Las Vegas. Regardless of the debate, I always enjoy my visits here, especially after a few drinks.
I typically go for the Taco de Adobada with fresh sliced marinated pork, onions, cilantro, and a slice of pineapple on a homemade corn tortilla. As of 2026, prices range from $3.75 to $5.00 per taco depending on your choice of protein.
The experience can be chaotic for first-timers. The lines often spill out the door, making it difficult to know where to enter or stand. Once inside, the most important thing to know is that the lines are separated by meat type. If you wait in the Carne Asada line, you cannot order Adobada at the front. You must find the specific queue for the meat you want, or you will end up waiting in line for nothing.
Paying can also be confusing. You might reach for your wallet when the cook hands you your plate, but don’t. You actually have to carry your food tray over to a separate cashier to pay. It feels a little backwards, but just grab your plate and look for the registers before you sit down.
Insider Tip: The Strip location gets packed after 11:00 PM when the clubs let out. For a shorter wait, try to visit during lunch hours or early dinner.
What to order: Taco de Adobada, Mulas
Tacos El Gordo
Address: 3041 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109
Hours: Sunday-Thursday: 10:00AM-2:00AM; Friday-Saturday: 10:00AM-4:00AM
2 – Secret Pizza
Looking for a slice of New York-style pizza? Look no further than Secret Pizza inside the Cosmopolitan. It is the perfect place for a slice before your night begins or after a night out.
While it is not so secret these days, it can still be tough to find since there is no sign. If you manage to find the entrance on the third floor, follow the record-lined hallway to the walk-up counter. Just be aware that “cheap” is relative here. As of 2026, slices have jumped to around $7.00 to $9.00 each.
When you arrive, the wait time is pure luck of the draw. You never know if you will walk right up to the counter or find a line stretching down the hall.
The seating is just as unpredictable. There are stools along the counter, but they get moved around by groups, so you might be forced to stand. You will also find glass shakers of chili flakes and parmesan floating around the counter, so grab them when you see them.
Since the late-night crowd often shows up hungry after a night out, they don’t always clean up after themselves. The counters can get a little messy faster than the busy staff can wipe them down.
Insider Tip: If the counters are too dirty or crowded, grab your slice to go. There are open lounge seats just outside the pizza shop hallway on Level 3. If those are full, head down one floor to the tables near Eggslut on Level 2.
What to order: White Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza
Secret Pizza
Address: 3708 Las Vegas Blvd S Level 3, The Boulevard Tower, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (located inside the Cosmopolitan)
Hours: Sunday-Thursday: 11:00AM-2:00AM; Friday-Saturday: 11:00AM-4:00AM
3 – Shake Shack
I know what you are thinking. Shake Shack is a massive global chain. So why is it on this list? The answer is simple: the location. This spot at New York-New York offers some of the best real estate on the Strip.
If you grab a table or a spot at the counter on the outdoor patio, you are literally sitting on the Las Vegas Strip. You cannot get a better view for the price of a burger. It is perfect for people-watching with a beer in hand, something you definitely can’t do at most fast-food spots.
The food also holds its own. While In-N-Out is famous for never changing their menu, Shake Shack keeps things interesting with frequent limited releases. On my last visit, I had the Korean-Style Fried Chick’n, which was a nice break from the standard burger routine. Of course, the classic ShackBurger with its smashed Angus beef patty and potato roll is always a reliable backup.
This location is next to T-Mobile Arena. It is the perfect spot for a quick, cheap meal before a Golden Knights game or a concert. However, this means it gets packed about an hour before any event starts.
Insider Tip: Download the app and use mobile order pickup to skip the line entirely. You just walk up to the side counter, grab your bag, and head out.
You can read my full review of Shake Shack here.
What to order: Double ShackBurger, Cheese Fries, Limited Time Releases (e.g., Korean-Style Chick’n)
Shake Shack
Address: 3790 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (located at the New York-New York)
Hours: Open daily 10:30 AM – 2:00 AM
4 – Eggslut
If you are on Instagram, you have likely seen photos of Eggslut. While it started as a food truck and has expanded globally, the location here at the Cosmopolitan has developed a massive cult following. And yes, I even feature it on my list of the best breakfast on the Las Vegas Strip.
I always go for the Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Sandwich with hardwood smoked bacon, over medium egg, cheddar cheese, and chipotle ketchup on a warm brioche bun. It is the perfect hangover food.
However, you need to know what you are walking into. The line is the number one pain point here. It moves fast, but if you hit the prime breakfast rush, you will be standing in it for 45 minutes.
Finding a seat is the other challenge. There are some counter seats where you can watch the kitchen action, but they are almost always full. I usually just grab my food and look for the open seating areas scattered nearby on Level 2.
You can read my full review of Eggslut here.
Insider Tip: The line is longest between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. To avoid the wait, try to arrive before 8:00 AM or wait until after 1:00 PM for a late lunch.
What to order: Any breakfast sandwich
Eggslut
Address: The Boulevard Tower, 3708 Las Vegas Blvd S Level 2, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (located inside the Cosmopolitan)
Hours: Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
5 – Village Pub & Cafe (Ellis Island)
While technically not located on the Las Vegas Strip, I couldn’t make a cheap eats post without including the Village Pub & Cafe. This restaurant is located inside Ellis Island, a small casino just east of the Strip behind Horseshoe and Paris. Just note that the property is currently going through a remodel, so you might see some construction walls up.
In the past, this spot was a secret known only to locals and in-the-know foodies. Thanks to social media, the secret is definitely out. However, many tourists are still too lazy to make the 15-minute walk, preferring to pay $50 for a steak on the Strip. Don’t be one of them.
The draw here is the $9.99 Steak & Eggs Special. It includes a steak cooked to your liking, two eggs any style, potatoes, and toast. With the way beef prices have skyrocketed lately, this deal is an absolute steal. While the price is cheap, the steak is fresh and seared perfectly.
Important: There is a “catch” to getting the $9.99 price. You cannot just walk in and order it. If you are a non-member, you will pay full price (usually around $17-$19). To get the $9.99 deal:
- Step 1: Sign up for a free Player’s Club card at the desk. (This usually drops the price to around $14.99).
- Step 2 (The Real Trick): To get the full discount down to $9.99, you typically need to play $5 in a slot machine. Once you play through $5, take your card to a kiosk and print the specific “Steak Special” voucher. Hand that voucher to your server when ordering.
Insider Tip: Ellis Island is also a brewery. Since you are saving money on steak, order one of their house-brewed craft beers. They are excellent and much cheaper than anything you will find at the mega-resorts.
What to order: $9.99 Steak & Eggs Special
Village Pub & Cafe
Address: 4178 Koval Ln, Las Vegas, NV 89109
Hours: 24 hours (Steak & Eggs Special available 11:00 PM – 11:00 AM)
6 – Dirt Dog
If you have ever stumbled out of a club or concert in Los Angeles, you know the intoxicating smell of bacon-wrapped hot dogs sizzling on a cart. Dirt Dog has taken that “unlicensed street cart” concept and upgraded it into a brick-and-mortar storefront.
You can find this location deep inside the Grand Bazaar Shops, the outdoor market right in front of the Horseshoe Casino. It is arguably the best late-night food in this specific area that isn’t pizza.
These aren’t $5 street dogs anymore. As of 2026, prices have crept up to around $12.00 or more per dog. It pushes the definition of “cheap eats,” but given the size and the amount of toppings, it is still a solid value for a meal on the Strip.
The dogs here are massive. They are 100% premium beef, wrapped in center-cut bacon, and served on a toasted lobster roll-style bun that actually holds up to the toppings. My go-to is the Elote Dog, which is covered in corn, lime mayo, cotija cheese, and chili powder.
Insider Tip: This location features an adjacent “Dirt Dog Bar” (Suite 618) which is full service. You can sit down at the counter, order a beer, and order your food directly from the bartender. Just keep in mind that aside from the bar, seating is limited to the scattered tables in the shops.
What to order: House Dog, Elote Dog
Dirt Dog
Address: 3649 S Las Vegas Blvd Ste 617 Las Vegas, NV 89109 (located at the Grand Bazaar Shops)
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 11:00 AM – 12:00 AM; Friday – Sunday: 11:00 AM – 2:00 AM
7 – Greenberg’s Deli
If you are looking for one of the best Reuben sandwiches in Las Vegas, look no further than Greenberg’s Deli. This New York-style Jewish deli is located along the Village Street Eateries inside the New York-New York Hotel, complete with faux cobblestone streets and steam rising from the manholes.
While this isn’t Katz’s or Carnegie Deli, you still get a taste of New York City. The meat here is the real deal, steamed and sliced to order right in front of you. Most people order the classic Reuben with corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing on rye. If you can’t decide between corned beef or pastrami, opt for the Twin Bill to get the best of both worlds.
Insider Tip: The sandwiches here are massive. For around $15, you get a sandwich that is easily large enough to split between two people. Ask for an extra plate and share one.
What to order: Reuben, Twin Bill Sandwich
Greenberg’s Deli
Address: 3790 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (located inside New York-New York Hotel)
Hours: Open daily 10:00AM-10:00PM
8 – Whataburger
For those of us from California, Whataburger is a rare treat since the chain still has zero locations in the Golden State. Fortunately, they have opened a massive two-story location on the Las Vegas Strip, right in front of the Waldorf Astoria.
This isn’t your typical fast-food joint. It is a unique co-branded space shared with Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse. This setup is confusing at first, but it is actually a huge perk. It means you can order your burger, then walk over to the Parry’s side to grab a craft beer or a frozen cocktail.
The real hidden gem here is the view. Head straight to the second floor. There is an outdoor patio that offers panoramic views of the Strip. It is arguably the best view you can get for the price of a burger.
While prices are higher than a roadside Whataburger (expect to pay over $10 for a full combo), you can still find individual burgers for under $10. I like to order the Bacon & Cheese Whataburger with a 5-inch patty, American cheese, bacon, tomato, onions, and mustard on a soft bun.
Insider Tip: Whataburger also serves breakfast, but it is not served all day. You can only order from the breakfast menu between 11:00 PM and 11:00 AM.
What to order: Whataburger, Bacon & Cheese Whataburger
Whataburger
Address: 3752 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89158 (located inside Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas)
Hours: Open Daily 9:00 AM – 3:00 AM (Breakfast served 11:00 PM – 11:00 AM)
9 – The Peppermill Restaurant & Fireside Lounge
The Peppermill Restaurant & Fireside Lounge is a Las Vegas icon. Located just north of the Venetian near Resorts World, this diner has been serving customers since 1972. Its unique old-school interior, featuring mirrored ceilings, bright purple booths, fake trees, and neon lights, makes it feel like you are stepping back in time.
I will be honest: since 2020, prices here have crept up significantly. Most entrees and burgers are now hovering around the $20 mark. However, I kept it on this list because the value comes from the portion sizes. The plates here are enormous. A single order of their famous Omelets or the French Toast Ambrosia can easily feed two people, making it a steal if you are willing to share.
Insider Tip: The real “cheap eat” is in the Fireside Lounge.
- For Everyone: The standard Happy Hour runs daily from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM with half-off select appetizers.
- For Locals Only: If you have a valid Las Vegas ID, the deal is even better. You get an extended Happy Hour from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Tuesday through Thursday.
Important Note on Parking: The parking lot here is notoriously small and tight. It is much easier to just take a rideshare or taxi and get dropped off right at the front door. Or just walk.
What to order: Sin City B.L.T., French Toast Ambrosia, Happy Hour Appetizers (Fireside Lounge only)
The Peppermill Restaurant & Fireside Lounge
Address: 2985 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89109
Hours: Monday-Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM; Thursday-Sunday: 7:00 AM – 2:00 AM
10 – Earl of Sandwich
Earl of Sandwich is one of my favorite spots in Las Vegas for a late night, carb-heavy meal that is both affordable and delicious. This deli-style spot is located inside the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, which is basically the holy grail for cheap eats on the Strip.
The sandwiches here are prepared fresh to order using high-quality ingredients and warm, soft bread. Unique options include the Holiday Turkey (cornbread stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce) and The Full Montagu (roasted beef, turkey, Swiss, cheddar, lettuce, and tomato).
As for me, I always go for the Chipotle Chicken Avocado with chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, and avocado.
Insider Tip: Before your trip, sign up for their Royalty Rewards program. While they don’t always offer an instant sign-up bonus, members get exclusive offers and a birthday treat. Plus, it is one of the only cheap eats in the mall open 24 hours a day, so it is always there when you need it.
What to order: Chipotle Chicken Avocado, The Original 1762, Holiday Turkey
Earl of Sandwich
Address: 3667 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (located inside Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops)
Hours: Open 24 Hours
11 – La Salsa Cantina
I am going to be honest with you: La Salsa Cantina won’t win any awards for their food There are certainly better places to eat in Vegas. However, if your goal is to fill up on a hot meal without draining your wallet, this might be the single best breakfast deal on the Strip.
You can find this casual Mexican eatery deep inside the maze of the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. It can be a little tricky to find if you are walking in from the Strip, so check the mall map.
The main draw here is the breakfast special. It includes two eggs any style, your choice of ham, bacon, or sausage, southwest potatoes, and tortillas or toast.
Weekdays versus Weekends: The popular $6.99 price is only valid Monday through Friday until 12:00 PM. If you visit on the weekend (Saturday or Sunday), the price jumps to $9.99. Even at that price, it is still a bargain compared to the rest of the Strip.
Insider Tip: The food isn’t the only cheap thing here. If you order the breakfast special, you can also order a Bloody Mary for just $0.99. It is hands down the cheapest way to start your day with a drink.
What to order: Breakfast Special, $0.99 Bloody Mary
La Salsa Cantina
Address: 3663 Las Vegas Blvd S Ste 380, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (located inside the Miracle Mile Shops)
Hours: Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM; Friday: 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM; Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 AM; Sunday: 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM
12 – Flour & Barley Walk-Up Window
The second pizza spot on the list of the best cheap eats in Las Vegas brings us to Flour & Barley. This brick-oven pizza joint is located in The LINQ Promenade, making it a perfect stop while exploring the Strip.
While the restaurant itself offers a great sit-down experience with Italian-inspired dishes, the real “cheap eat” hack is outside. They have a dedicated Walk-Up Window that serves slices for around $7.00.
I recommend the Pepperoni Slice. It comes loaded with crunchy, oil-filled pepperoni cups, a tart tomato sauce, and a crust that is crispy on the outside but soft on the inside.
After you grab your slice, look for a standing table nearby. If those are taken, you can sit on the concrete ledge surrounding the large fountain right in front. Since The LINQ Promenade is always busy, this is a great spot for prime people-watching.
Insider Tip: Don’t walk into the main restaurant entrance if you just want a slice as they only serve whole pies inside. Go to the small window to the left of the entrance.
What to order: Cheese or Pepperoni Slice
Flour & Barley
Address: 3545 South Las Vegas Boulevard #L25, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (located at The LINQ Promenade)
Hours (Walk-Up Window): Sunday – Thursday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM; Friday – Saturday: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
13 – Foot Long Hot Dog
Foot Long Hot Dog is one of the lesser known spots on my list. This hot dog stand, hidden in the back of Casino Royale, is one of the cheapest eats on this list. For $3.99, you get yourself a Nathan’s all beef footlong hot dog.
All hot dogs come plain with ketchup, mustard, and mayo packets given on the side. Onions and relish cost 50 cents each while premium toppings including chili, cheese, grilled onions and bell peppers, and sauerkraut cost 99 cents each. The all beef sausages are steamed until tender and moist while the buns are fluffy and sweet.
While I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, if you are in the area and looking for something cheap, then it’s worth it. And, they are open late if you need a quick bite after a night out in Vegas.
What to order: Footlong All Beef Hot Dog
Foot Long Hot Dogs
Address: 3411 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (located inside Casino Royale)
Hours: Sunday-Thursday: 11:00AM-1:00AM; Friday-Saturday: 11:00AM-3:00AM
14 – In-N-Out Burger
The final spot on my list of the best cheap eats in Las Vegas goes to In-N-Out Burger. Sure, this is a fast food chain, but how could I leave it out? While you can find locations across the valley, my favorite In-N-Out Burger location in Las Vegas is at The LINQ Promenade near the large fountain.
Because In-N-Out doesn’t exist on the East Coast or internationally, this specific location is popular with tourists wanting to try it for the first time. You will need to be patient with the lines. However, the food quality is consistent with any other location, featuring fresh ingredients and never-frozen beef.
I always go for their signature Double-Double. As the name implies, this includes two meat patties, two slices of cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and sauce on a toasted bun. As for me, I order my Double-Double with two types of onions, fresh and grilled, along with spicy chopped chilis.
If you are feeling hungry, go for the Animal Style Fries. They come smothered in melted cheese, their signature spread, and grilled onions. It is messy, but better than plain fries. Make sure to ask for a fork.
Expert Tip: If you find the standard fries a bit too soft, order them “Light Well.” They cook them slightly longer for a better crunch.
Insider Tip: The dining room here is almost always full. Instead of hovering over tables, order your food “to go” (ask for it in a box). You can then walk right outside and sit on the concrete ledge of the fountain in front of the entrance. Also, don’t miss the Company Store right next door. It is one of the few places where you can buy In-N-Out socks, towels, and collector shirts without waiting in the food line.
What to order: Double-Double Animal Style, Animal Style Fries
In-N-Out Burger
Address: 3545 S Las Vegas Blvd Suite #L24, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (located at The LINQ Promenade)
Hours: Sunday-Thursday: 10:30 AM – 1:00 AM; Friday-Saturday: 10:30 AM – 1:30 AM
